One use for this would be implementation of the "descriptor" "class" outlined elsewhere in WikiWorld. It is abstract in that it incorporates "knowledge" rather than empirical data. This "knowledge" would come from a special group of volunteers I like to think of as "taxonomers". Thse volunteers would maintain a tree-like(?) structure of "is a" relationships between "descriptors". This would include cataloguing of examples of "branded" descriptors (see "GenDesc"), as well as gendesc's as instances of other (more "general" or perhaps more "generic") gendesc's.
